This might help....

A Min. Cym. is a miniature cymbidium. The word 'miniature' can be misleading - the average height is around 45 cms.

The bit in upper case is the 'Grex Epithet' applied to all the progeny of the same two parents. As in a human family, each resultant offspring will exhibit some degree of variation. The bit in quote marks is the cultivar name of a specific offspring. In our listing these denote cymbidium we have propagated to reproduce plants with identical characteristics. If no cultivar name is shown for a plant, some 'family' variation may occur in your plant.

AM stands for Award of Merit, either from RHS - the Royal Horticultural Society - or from AOS - the American Orchid Society.
