20th WOC Singapore
McBean's Orchids are proud to announce that their plant Oncidium alexandrae (syn. Odontoglossum crispum) 'Barcombe' won Best Oncidiinae, Best Oncidium and a Gold Medal at an outstanding 20th World Orchid Conference in Singapore.
The species originates from Colombia and has been successfully line bred, first by Charlesworth & Co, whose work was then continued by McBean's to produce this stunning example.
Silver medals were also awarded to another Oncidium alexandrae and to a fine specimen of Cymbidium tracyanum, also seed sown by McBean's Orchids.
All McBean's orchids displayed at the show have remained in Singapore and will feature in the amazing cool/wet glasshouse being constructed in the Gardens by the Bay which will open to the public in June,
Siblings of the awarded plants are available however on this website and from the nursery. |
